Loss and Grief

Loss and Grief

The experiences of loss and grief are both universal and unique.  Universal in the sense that we will all be faced with loss at some point in our lives, unique in that we all react and cope with losses in our own individual way.  The process of coping with and adapting to a loss can be quite difficult, and there may be times when speaking with an experienced and supportive therapist will be helpful.

I have significant experience assisting patients with issues related to death, loss, grief, and bereavement.  My clinical experience includes helping people to cope with and adapt to loss related to a death as well as non-death loss, such as divorce, loss of career, or being diagnosed with a serious medical illness.

I am Certified in Thanatology- the study of death, dying, loss and grief- by  the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).  This certification is granted to professionals in recognition of their clinical knowledge and experience in the field of thanatology.
